DIABETIC SHOES

For Diabetics, especially those who also have neuropathy, the appropriate shoe gear is so important in maintaining good foot health and preventing Diabetic wounds or ulcerations. We offer therapeutic (prescription) footwear in-house, which come in a wide variety of sizes, widths, and depths. The shoes also come with either a pre-formed Diabetic insert, or (for those with a more unique foot shape) custom formed inserts. The inserts are specially designed for Diabetics, which emphasis on reducing overall pressure put on your feet. If seen in the office, we offer a precise foot/shoe measurement with a Brannock device to ensure the best fitment both length and width wise. Best of all, prescription Diabetic shoes are a covered benefit for Diabetic patients with Medicare (usually 80% coverage, and those with additional insurance typically cover the rest) and a new set of shoes and inserts are typically allowed once per year.
